Books of Black Wings

Thirteen completed books, Book XIV now begun, and the road toward Books XV to XX already stirring beyond the map.

The Completed Road So Far

The Saga of Black Wings is a long-form epic fantasy series of ravens, wolves, salt-marsh roads, old law, chosen family, roots, crowns, houses, witness, refusal and love that will not be owned.

This page gives the shape of the saga without opening the locked doors too early. Small details matter here, but the deeper storylines remain protected for readers.

“A book is a road that remembers every footstep.”

Books I to XIII

Book I: Saga of Black Wings: the first road, where ravens, refusal, scars and chosen family begin to gather their names. Book II: The Reckoner’s Knot: law, debt, witness and the dangerous cost of being counted by hostile hands. Book III: The Crown of Thorns and Salt: Crown pressure deepens, and power learns to wear paperwork, custody, silence and fear. Book IV: The Crown Unmade: the Crown’s foundations crack as old truths, old roots and living refusal begin to answer back. Book V: The War of the Underroot: buried powers rise, root-law hungers, and the Braid faces a war beneath the visible world. Book VI: The Rising Root: the root-war grows sharper, stranger and more intimate as old systems reach for living names. Book VII: The Severing War: bonds, claims, weapons and loyalties are tested where severance becomes more than battle. Book VIII: The Last Root: the old root-logic faces the one thing it cannot simplify: living choice, love and refusal. Book IX: The World Without Root: after root-power breaks, the world must learn what remains when old systems no longer hold it together. Book X: The Quieting World: quiet becomes danger, peace becomes pressure, and silence asks too much of the living. Book XI: The Agreement of Ash: agreement, ash, road, witness and false mercy gather into a new kind of threat. Book XII: The Last Refusal: the saga reaches one of its great laws: refusal is not emptiness, it is a living door. Book XIII: The House That Raised the Raven: home, family, childhood, memory and origin are brought into the fire and made to answer.

Book XIV Now in Development

Book XIV: The House Beyond the House: the northern road begins. Hidden kin, cold hearths, beast-law, old family secrets and the question of whether origin can ever become ownership.

Book XIV continues the saga beyond the house, beyond familiar roads and into a new arc of mystery, family law, animal witness, old northern danger and unanswered history.

The Road Ahead

The Saga of Black Wings does not end with the completed books now gathered on this site.

Book XIV, The House Beyond the House, has begun: a new northern road of hidden kin, cold hearths, beast-law, old family secrets and the question of whether origin can ever become ownership.

Beyond Book XIV, Books XV to XX are also in planning and development as the next major arc of the saga. Their titles remain sealed for now, but the road is open, the ravens are flying, and Vardrum is not finished speaking.

“The map ends only where courage stops drawing.”
